Authorities Investigating Shooting Death of Dog in Winnebago County

OMRO, Wis. (WFRV) - Authorities in Winnebago County are investigating the shooting death of a dog.
According to the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office, two weeks ago a 78-year-old man and his two dogs were walking in a field near Fox Lane and County Road K in Omro when he heard a gunshot.
The man called out to his two dogs, but only one returned to him.
Soon after, he found the other dog dead nearby with a gunshot wound to the head.
Officials believe the wound was from a rifle round.
