Alex Hoffmann is not shy about sharing his tragic story. The former banker diagnosed with terminal cancer could be spending his final years traveling the world or seeking comfort, but instead he chooses to speak out on the opioid crisis that took his son.
In his book, Our Last Day in Heaven, Hoffmann recounts his struggle with his son’s heroin addiction and eventual overdose death as well as his own battles with alcoholism that landed Hoffman behind bars.
On CBS 58 Sunday Morning, Hoffmann shared his story with Jacob Kittilstad in hopes that more will become aware of the dispassionate and destructive power of addiction.
