Aurora Holds Ribbon Cutting For New Facility In Washington County

WASHINGTON COUNTY - Aurora has cut the ribbon on a new facility in Washington County. The 76,000 square foot center is in Germantown, right next to the Germantown High School on River Line Road. It will offer an abundance of new services to the community.

"We have cardiology services, orthopedic services, cancer care, a healing garden and all the services that are really ancillary to that," said Gerard Colman, CEO of Aurora Health Systems.

"What we're trying to do here is keep people well. We want them out of the hospital. We understand they get conditions, and we have great hospitals in Aurora, but this is a center to keep people out of the hospital and in their homes," said Dr. John Kunkel, an Orthopaedic Surgeon. Kunkel called the facility "A destination center for the whole region."

There are 170 full-time mebers of the medical staff.
