Meet CBS 58’s Pet of the Week: Stealth
The last month of meteorological summer is underway. August is still a very warm month for the area. Here's what you can expect:
The highest average high temperature for Milwaukee is 82 and we start the month at that mark. As you can see we only slightly fall on average highs and lows this month. And we still get plenty of rain. After a very dry spring and then some catch up in July, hopefully August continues to provide some decent rain chances. In the short run there isn't much going on. This is actually our best shot at a downpour for the remainder of the work week. The timing is now lagging into the night on Thursday. With all the heat and humidity around anything that forms could drop a good shower and maybe even a storm. Since Thursday's chance remains isolated, the next chance for what looks to be widespread and more long lasting rain is Saturday night and through Sunday. This is when low pressure moves through and provides more of a direct hit for precipitation. Overall the next seven days feature summerlike temps. We have a chance to reach 90 through tomorrow afternoon, then we'll settle back down around 80 for the rest of the stretch.I'm meteorologist Rebecca Schuld
