Attorney General Plans to File Emergency Motion Seeking Stay of Release

Attorney General Brad Schimel intends to file an emergency motion in the Seventh Circuit to stay the release order of Brendan Dassey.

A federal judge ordered on Monday that Brendan Dassey be released from prison pending the appeal.

The judge ordered that Dassey to be supervised by United States Probation Office.

The court imposed conditions upon Dassey consistent with those routinely given, according to court documents.

No later than Tuesday at noon, Dassey shall provide the probation office his intended residence.

Dassey can not possess a firearm or other dangerous weapon.

He, also, can not possess controlled substance.

Dassey is not allowed to have contact with Steven Avery.

Brendan Dassey and Steven Avery were found guilty of killing Teresa Halbach in 2006. Their story was created into a documentary called Making a Murderer.

On August 12, the court granted Brendan Dassey a petition for writ of habeas corpus.
