Attorney for Steven Avery files new motion

MANITOWOC COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Steven Avery’s attorney has filed a new motion asking the court to reconsider an order that denied Avery a new trial.

The request says it’s based on “manifest of errors of law and fact and development of new evidence.”

Avery and his nephew Brendan Dassey are serving life sentences for the murder of Teresa Halback in Manitowoc County in 2005.

Among other things, the motion claims there’s new evidence that Halbrach and her vehicle left the Avery property before when the state says the murder took place.
