Attorney "confident" no charges against maintenance worker in shooting

MILWAUKEE - The attorney of the maintenance worker involved in a double fatal shooting last week told CBS 58 on Thursday that he's confident the state will not bring charges against his client.

Police say 17-year-old Anmarie Miller and 19-year-old James Bell were shot and killed after assaulting the 39-year-old maintenance man inside an apartment building near 27th and Vliet.

Police arrested a 20-year-old man involved in the assault of the maintenance man and the maintenance man himself.

Both men have since been released.

CBS 58 is told the maintenance worker did have a concealed carry permit.

The Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office is still reviewing the case.

The DA's office told CBS 58 that they do not expect any decision on the case this week and they are not sure about next week.
