Armed suspect shot by Ozaukee County sheriff's detective during search warrant

FREDONIA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- According to a criminal complaint out of Ozaukee County, 57-year-old Kenneth Harter is facing charges including battery to a law enforcement officer with the use of a dangerous weapon and first-degree reckless endangerment, also involving the use of a dangerous weapon.
The complaint notes that two detectives attempted to engage with Harter at his residence on Wednesday, June 7 before he threatened officers with a kitchen knife, leading to a physical struggle and subsequent gunfire from a detective.
A detective was also injured during the incident.
A knife with a roughly 12-inch blade was reportedly recovered from the scene.

OZAUKEE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A suspect is in serious condition after being shot by an Ozaukee County Sheriff's Office detective in Fredonia on Wednesday, June 7.
Authorities say around 7:25 a.m., the Ozaukee County Sheriff's Office attempted to serve a felony search warrant at a residence on County Highway E. The warrant was in regard to an internet crimes against children investigation.
During the attempted arrest, the sheriff's office says a struggle ensued and the male suspect armed himself with an edged weapon. Officials say the suspect was then shot by a detective. He was left in serious condition and transported to a local hospital.
An Ozaukee County detective was injured during the incident and taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
The Ozaukee County detective who fired his weapon has been placed on administrative leave.
The investigation has been turned over to the Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI).
