Area Memorial Day Events

There are many different ways to celebrate Memorial Day in the Milwaukee area. 

Milwaukee's 151st Annual Memorial Day Parade starts at N. 4th and Wisconsin Streets at 2 p.m. and ends at the War Memorial Center, 750 N. Lincoln Memorial Dr. After the parade, a concert by the Milwaukee Metropolitan Community Concert Band will start at 4 p.m. More information: http://war-veterans.org/Parade.htm

Wauwatosa's Memorial Day Ceremony begins at 10:30 a.m. at Longfellow Middle School 7600 W. North Ave. Dennis Konkel, a member of the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office and a member of Wisconsin Army National Guard since 1987 will be featured. West Allis will be hosting their Memorial Day Parade beginning at 10 a.m. near 70th St. and Greenfield Ave. More information: http://www.westalliswi.gov/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=476

Racine's Annual Memorial Day Observance starts at 10 a.m. at West Lawn Memorial Park, 9000 Washington Ave. in Mount Pleasant. 

Waukesha will begin Memorial Day events at the Lee Sherman Dreyfus State Office Building, 141 N.W. Barstow St. at 9:00 a.m. followed by the parade at 10:00 a.m., concluding with a program that will include a performance by the Waukesha Civic Band at 11:00 a.m. at Cutler Park. Menomonee Falls will host a Memorial Day Parade beginning at 10:00 am, Main Street at Harrison Ave. More information: http://fallsparades.org/

Sheboygan's Memorial Day parade begins at 9 a.m. at the intersection of North Seventh Street and Center Avenue. More information: http://sheboyganpolice.com/memorial-day/

Whitefish Bay's Memorial Day program starts at 11 a.m. at Armory Park, 1225 E. Henry Clay & Ardmore. The program is 45 minutes long. More information: http://wfbcivicfoundation.org/

Woodlawn Cemetery in Milwaukee (614 E. Howard Ave.) will have guest speaker Stewart Kuehl (retired sergeant first class from the U.S. Army) beginning at 9:30 a.m. A dove release will also be featured in the program. http://woodlawncemeterymilwaukee.com

Oak Creek: The annual Memorial Day Observance will take place Monday, May 30th at 9:00 a.m. at Forest Hill Memorial Park, 3031 E. Forest Hill Ave. Oak Creek's Facebook page recommends bringing your own lawn chairs.

Brookfield: At Wisconsin Memorial Park (13235 W. Capitol Drive) there will be festivities starting at 9 a.m. They include:

Kenosha: Navy Club Ship 40 will host its annual Memorial Day ceremony at 9 a.m. at the south end of Navy Park (54th St. & the Harbor).
