(WFRV) A woman convicted of killing in her husband last year has been sentenced to eight years in prison.
Tina Hafeman was sentenced in an Outagamie County courthouse Friday morning.
Hafeman was charged with 1st Degree Intentional Homicide for stabbing her husband, Chad Hafeman.
The incident happened in the early hours on May 27, 2016 in the 900 block of Durkee Street in their Appleton home.
Investigators say both Chad and Tina had been drinking and got into an argument that ended when Tina stabbed Chad in bed. According to the criminal complaint, Chad and Tina had gone out drinking to celebrate Chad getting a raise at his job. When they got home they began to argue, which according to Tina in the complaint, is common when they drink.
The complaint says Tina blacked out and does not remember stabbing Chad. When she saw Chad in bed bleeding, she sought the help of her brother Daniel, who lived in the upper part of their duplex.
According to the complaint, their youngest child was in the home at the time and may have witnessed Tina stabbing Chad.
Chad was taken to a hospital where he later died.
Hafeman pleaded no contest in December.
