Hometown author shares inspiration for ’The Sins We Inherit’
He was a Navy man decades ago and he really never stopped serving his country.
Now, an Appleton man is getting the recognition he richly deserves.
"He stayed involved, gotta be super dedicated to be involved for 70 years."
He's talking about Bob Albrecht who was honored over the weekend for 70 years of service to his local VFW Post.
Albrecht will soon turn 90-years-old, so you could say the honor is overdue but still, it caught him by surprise.
"That's about it. I couldn't believe it, I'll tell you," said Bob Albrecht.
Albrecht stood up and saluted his fellow post members, once the surprise wore off. We're told Bob Albrecht enlisted in the Navy when he was 17 and served in the Pacific
His work with the VFW has touched fellow veterans, their families, and the community at large.
