(CBS 58) – American veterans will soon be able to keep track of their health records in the iPhone’s Health app.
According to USA Today, Apple and the Department of Veterans Affairs are partnering to have information from Veterans Health Administration hospitals connect to active military and veterans phones.
Beginning this summer, vets will be able to view a snapshot of their records like allergies, tests results, medications and procedures in the Health app. It will be updated within 24 hours of a visit to the V.A.
Apple says the information will be encrypted and secure.
Vets will sign in to the app using their military credentials and not their Apple I.D.
The V.A. joins us a growing list of health providers who work with Apple to give patients access to their information.
