Another Air Bag Device Found in Kenosha County

At approximately 12:30 PM on Wednesday, October 12, the Pleasant Prairie Police and Fire & Rescue departments responded to the 10500 block of 80th Avenue in response to a report of a suspicious item found on a picnic bench.

Upon arrival, officers and fire department personnel located a device on a picnic table and identified it as an automobile airbag device.

The Kenosha County Hazardous Device Team was contacted. They reviewed photos of the device taken at the scene and determined that it was safe to move. The airbag unit was removed from the scene and destroyed.

The origin of the device and the reason it was placed at the location are unknown at this time.

The Kenosha Sheriff's Office was called to a similar air bag incident taped to a railroad crossing sign Monday night.
