MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) --There was not much wind blowing around on this sunny Saturday, but that didn't stop dozens of people from enjoying this year's kite festival.
The annual event is put on by Gift of Wings Kite Shop. It features daily performances put on by professional kite flyers at Veterans Park.
Gift of Wings also gives kids free kite flying lessons, so everyone can participate in the fun.
"This is our first time flying, it's a little tough out here. But you know, trying to persevere because I want her to enjoy what I didn't enjoy when I was little," said Aaron and Alani, first time kite flyers at the festival.
If you missed the event today, don't worry. You can head down to Veterans Park anytime between 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to see the rest of the festival on Sunday, May 26.
