Annual 'Heal the Hood' block party returns with entertainment and more than 40 vendors

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Annual Heal the Hood block party will return this summer with two events-- one will take place in July and the other in August.
The event brings resources and entertainment to specifically high crime and high poverty areas in Milwaukee.
Last year, it was put on hold due to COVID, and the funds were put into community organizations already doing work in MKE.
Three members of the Heal the Hood MKE planning committee-- Jamila Carney, Jessica Butler and Jolie Kadima-Brox-- joined CBS 58 on Thursday, May 5 to talk all about the upcoming event.
