MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Community leaders and top executives came together to raise more than $57,000 for United Way of Milwaukee and Waukesha counties. It was all part of the 6th Annual Donut Smackdown.
The contest featured 38 Milwaukeeans going head-to-head to compete in two categories, speed-eating and fundraising.
Each team had to eat nine donuts as fast as possible for a chance to compete in this year's eat-off.
"The thing that's really unique about the smackdown is that it's a chance for people to get acquainted with United Way and give money on their own terms and just have fun and put a smile on their faces right before the holiday season and know that it's okay to give a little smack talk," said Anne Zizzo, founder and CEO of Zizzo Group Engagement Marketing.
