Alderman Joe Davis Makes Bold Allegations

Alderman Joe Davis is making some bold claims the same day as State of the City. Davis says in November of last year Shot Spotter signaled that there was a shooting on Sherman Blvd.

There was in fact a homicide at the home, but Davis says he's not sure the police department responded in a timely manner. That's because Alderman Davis says that he requested response time records from the police department but says Chief Flynn never responded to his open records request.

He says that he believes that the police department and the mayor are withholding that Open Record until after the mayor's race. He says he believes it shows a larger problem with transparency here in the city.

We were unable to reach the mayor to comment on the allegations. The police department says their is an internal investigation into the incident in November.
