MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson signed a bill on Tuesday, April 21 that makes the city more inclusive for everyone. 

What started as an idea from the Milwaukee Common Council turned into an actionable plan called the "Sensory Inclusive Initiative." 

Over the next 90 days, city employees will be trained in sensory inclusive practices through the "KultureCity" program. 

Signing the bill into action acts as a promise that the mayor says his administration will deliver on. 

"It's a promise that Milwaukee will lead with empathy, that accessibility is not an afterthought when this council approves something, our administration acts on it that's what today is about," said Mayor Johnson. 

The signing of the bill could not come at a better time. Since 2021, April has been widely observed as "Autism Acceptance Month," which celebrates the identities of people with autism.
