CBS 58 DODGE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Dodge County Sheriff's Office is investigating a crash that left a motorcyclist seriously injured Monday afternoon, Sept. 7.
Officials say the drivers of a motorcycle and motorized tricycle (trike) were traveling north together on County Highway FW just before 12:30 p.m. when the trike attempted a right turn into a parking lot. The motorcycle was following and rear-ended the trike, according to the sheriff's office, throwing the driver from the motorcycle.
The motorcycle driver, a 56-year-old Mayville man, was taken by helicopter to UW Hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the trike, a 76-year-old Mayville man, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to an area hospital by EMS.
The sheriff's office says neither rider was wearing a helmet.
The crash remains under investigation.
