A Sloppy Weather Day w/Lots of Headlines
First we had the snow. Some spots overnight, especially northern tier of the viewing area, received between 2 and 4 inches. And over the last few hours, some icing has been a concern. Now the shift will be rain and wind as we venture into the middle and later part of the afternoon. The rain could be heavy, perhaps an inch in spots. Ponding on the roads could be a concern as well.
Beside the rain, there's the wind component to the storm. Wind gusts could exceed 40 mph later this afternoon and evening before calming down overnight. A Wind Advisory will go into effect at 3pm and continue until midnight.
It's amazing on how much snow is bypassing us. Just to the north, they could get 6 to 12 inches. For us, too much warm air worked into the system.
Behind this system, we sit and wait for a similar weather pattern later Wednesday afternoon into Thursday morning. Expect a mixture of wintry weather at this time. And if this isn't enough, look for more chances of snow for the weekend.
