Before Irish Fest at Milwaukee's lakefront, there is the Irish Fest Summer School at the Celtic MKE Center in Wauwatosa.

This is where students can learn from the masters in Irish traditional music, art, crafts and language.

There's an open seisiún (as they call it in Irish) around lunch time.

Novice artists can sit it with experts and the public can listen in.

Those same master will be giving a concert at the center Tuesday night at 8.

$5 tickets help support the cultural endeavors of Irish Fest which is celebrating 37 years.

August 14 to August 18,  The Milwaukee Irish Fest Summer School features classes that showcase the rich culture, history and traditions of Ireland and Irish America, past and present.

Anyone can sign up to learn to play Irish fiddle, flute, tin whistle, guitar, harp, Celtic music styles and more from master musicians.

There's also the option of taking a discussion class and learn about Irish history, Irish language, and culture!

The Celtic arts classes pride themselves on offering  hands-on learning.
