MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Thousands of local students got a taste of winter both outside and inside the classroom on Wednesday, Nov. 6. They took part in the annual "School Day Game" with the Milwaukee Admirals.
A total of 8,000 kids watched the Ads take on the Manitoba Moose at Milwaukee's Panther Arena, and they were there for more than just hockey. The event is a lesson on important math and science concepts.

Each student received a workbook to compliment what they learned while watching the sport.
Organizers hope the memorable experience is something the kids will remember and carry with them throughout their academic career.
Front and center on the rink was CBS 58's Chief Meteorologist Drew Burgoyne, who shared his cool cloud experiment. CBS 58 and Baird are two proud sponsors of the event.
It’s called science. ☁️
