MILWAUKEE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A celebration of arts, culture, and commerce in Milwaukee.
The 15th annual Bronzeville week kicked off this weekend, highlighting the history and culture that has made the neighborhood.
Bronzeville has a rich African American entertainment and arts scene that dates back to the early 1900s.
The weeklong fest is featuring new and returning favorites like the Bronzeville Cultural and Arts festival.
There are food tastings, three stages of live entertainment, and more than 150 vendors.
Alderwoman Milele Coggs hosts the event, and says the festival is important to our community.
"I think diversity makes the city strong, helps to make this nation strong, and the diversity that Bronzeville is able to show - the African American culture - is so great." says Coggs.
Bronzeville weeks runs through Saturday, August 9. You can find a full list of events here.
