A Big First for The Brookfield East Spartans: They're off to State

Tremendous cheer and pride for Brookfield East High School as the football team heads to State for the first time ever.  The game is at 1 o'clock Friday afternoon against Monona Grove at Camp Randall in Madison.  CBS58 was on hand during the morning show to help give the Spartans, the school, and the community a big sendoff.  We even had our Jessica Tighe, also an alum, to help with a routine or two.

The Division Two team has an 11-2 record.  This is also the first year for both the Athletic Director and head coach to be in their roles.  Everyone we spoke with say they're ready and excited.

Two other Brookfield East teams have made state finals this fall, including Girls Tennis and Boys Cross Country.  We wish them the best of luck tomorrow. We should also mention there are some other local schools going to State. Cedar Grove-Belgium plays today at 4 for the Division 5 championship against Amherst.

And then three more state championships tomorrow, including Catholic Memorial in Waukesha.  They play Notre Dame at 10 am.  Then of course there's the Brookfield East game followed by Franklin vs. Kimberly as the main event.
