90-year-old man dies in T-bone crash in Washington County

Saturday afternoon around 1:52 PM a 90-year-old Florida man died in a crash near the intersection of County Highway XX and Jay Road in the Town of Farmington in Washington County.

When Sheriff's Deputies arrived one car had stopped in the ditch off the road and the second remained on the shoulder of the road.

First Responders on scene had to extricate one driver from a vehicle and two others were badly injured.

Initial investigation revealed the Florida man was driving his car east on Jay Road with a female passenger. The man stopped at the stop sign but then continued into the intersection where it was hit by a car driving south on Highway XX that did not have a stop sign. The car from Florida was T-boned by the other car and both vehicles sustained significant damage.

The 90-year-old driver died at the scene and his passenger suffered significant injury and was taken to the hospital. The driver of the other vehicle only suffered minor injuries and did not go to the hospital.
