9-year-old Killed in Crash Saving others through Organ Donation
SAGINAW COUNTY, MI (WNEM) A 9-year-old girl has passed away following an accident on Feb. 12.
The accident happened shortly after 5p.m. in the 6900 block of M-13, north of Curtis Road, in Saginaw County’s Spaulding Township.
Investigators tell us a GMC Jimmy was northbound on M-13 with a 37-year-old Saginaw County woman and her two daughters, A'Myracle,9, and Aniyah, 12, Andres.
The Jimmy went out of control, crossed the center line, and hit a mini-van driven by a 32-year-old man from Shiawassee County.
Lt. Mike Gomez with the Saginaw County Sheriff’s Department tells TV5 that A'Myracle girl was taken off life support today. He also tells us that she was an organ donor.
"They've found out she will be able to save the lives of seven children," said Diane Wyper, the victim’s cousin.
A’Myracle’s heart, among other organs will go to save others.
"She gets to be a blessing in that way to an enormous amount of people and touch an enormous amount of lives. As hard as it is to go through this, it is so cool and so awesome to know God can still use her in a really mighty way," Wyper said.
A’Myracle’s sister, Aniyah, was flown to U of M in Ann Arbor for critical injuries.
The mother was also hospitalized for precautionary reasons.
The driver of the mini-van had head injuries, but his condition is unclear.
A gofundme account has been set-up to help with the medical costs for the Andres family. See it here.
"They're not even focused on that right now, that's not a priority, but as family and friends we can see into the future and say wow, they're going to need some help," said Wyper..
