8-year-old struck by gunfire after multiple shots fired

The Milwaukee Police Department is currently investigating a non-fatal shooting that left an 8-year-old injured.

The shooting happened around 10 p.m. on Monday evening near 47th and Clarke.

An 8-year-old girl was outside her home when she was struck by gunfire after multiple shots were fired in the area.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

MPD continues to search for a suspect and a motive.
