8-Year-Old Girl Injured by Shooting in Beloit

On Saturday at 5:30 AM, Town of Beloit officers were called to the 1900 block of Nelson for a report of shots fired into a house.

After arriving it was discovered that multiple firearm rounds were shot at 1998 Nelson Ave. and it also appeared one round struck 1986 Nelson Ave.

Several residents were in the house at the time of the shooting. An 8-year-old girl was treated at the scene by Beloit Township Fire Department at 1998 Nelson, for being struck by possible debris generated from the firearm rounds.

At 645 AM, Town of Beloit Police requested the Rock County Sheriff’s Office to take over the investigation. Detectives and Crime Scene Specialists were assigned to complete the investigative process at the two houses.

Rock County Sheriff’s Office will work closely with Town of Beloit Police to follow up and fully investigate this incident.
