8 Milwaukee shootings leave 9 injured within a 10-hour span

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- At least nine people were shot in Milwaukee over the course of Tuesday, Dec. 13 to early Wednesday, Dec. 14.

None of the injuries have been fatal, but Milwaukee Police have confirmed that nine people were shot during eight incidents across a period of approximately 12 hours.

  • The first shooting took place at around 3:50 p.m. at 27th St. and Meinecke where police say a road rage incident ended with a suspect firing shots into a vehicle, striking a 22-year-old Milwaukee man who was transported to the hospital for non-fatal injuries. Police are still seeking information about the suspect(s).
  • Shortly after, MPD reported a shooting at 5:40 p.m. at N. 61st St. and Capitol where a 21-year-old woman was taken to a hospital for non-fatal injuries after having been shot. Again, MPD is still seeking unknown suspect(s) for this shooting.
  • Merely minutes later, a 29-year-old Milwaukee man was shot in what is believed to be a burglary-related shooting at around 5:53 p.m. on W. Leon Terrace and W. Baldwin. The complete circumstances leading up to the shooting are still under investigation. The victim of the shooting is in custody, with charges pending review by the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.
  • CBS 58 previously reported on a double shooting that occurred soon after, at around 6:30 p.m. near Water Street and Buffalo. A 35-year-old man from Kenosha was shot ten times. A 19-year-old woman from Green Bay was shot five times, including in the head. Both suffered life-threatening injuries and suspects are still being sought.
  • Before the hour was over, a 28-year-old man arrived at a hospital at around 6:52 p.m. after having been shot near N. 50th St. and Vienna. No suspect is yet in custody.
  • A 32-year-old Milwaukee man then arrived at a hospital with a gunshot wound, following an incident at around 8:30 p.m. on 41st St. and W. Lisbon. That investigation is ongoing.
  • A 27-year-old woman was taken into custody for a shooting that occurred at around 10:28 p.m. on 83rd and W. Eggert Place where a 26-year-old Milwaukee man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The circumstances are under investigation and charges for the woman are pending review.
  • The night of violence ended with a 25-year-old Milwaukee man sustaining life-threatening injuries following a shooting early Wednesday morning, at around 1:10 a.m. on N. 76th and Green Tree Rd. As in the case of most of the shootings in this stretch, MPD is still seeking suspects and investigating the circumstances behind the incident.
