50th annual Morning Glory Art Fair returns to Deer District this weekend

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- This Saturday and Sunday, you can eat, explore and shop in Deer District. The Morning Glory Art Fair is back for the 50th year. There are more than 100 artists that come from around the country to sell their artwork. You'll find everything from metal work to photography, jewelry and much more. For these craftsmen and women, it's a way to sell their work and to be inspired by the people who are interested in one-of-a-kind pieces made by hand.
While artists come from all over, it's also a place to see some of the best makers in Wisconsin. Dan Walker is a potter from Oak Creek. This is his third year at the Morning Glory Art Fair.
"Having people come in and just respond to my artwork is kind of nice. When you work in a studio, a potter is just working among themselves. It’s a great dichotomy to that to come out and get that input from people as they come into the booth," said Walker. "It's inspiring and I get a lot of ideas just by walking around, seeing jewelry and fabrics and fibers and all things like that."
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
