WAUWATOSA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Authorities announced Friday, Oct. 15, the arrest of four juveniles connected to the deadly hit-and-run that occurred early Thursday morning, Oct. 14, on North Avenue and Mayfair Road.

In a press conference Friday, officials said the victim, 47-year-old Sunita Suratu Balogun-Olayiwola of Oshkosh, happened upon an attempted auto theft in the parking lot of the Holiday Inn around 1:50 a.m. Thursday morning.

Officials say she immigrated from Nigeria in 2006.

Sunita attempted to alert staff to contact police, but there was a communication barrier.

Shortly afterward, she had an interaction with the suspects. One of the suspects was able to enter her vehicle, intentionally striking her.

Authorities say the remaining suspects then got into the vehicle and fled the scene.

The vehicle was located Thursday night around 8:40, parked and occupied by four people.

A short police pursuit ensued, but the vehicle was able to evade officers.

It was found abandoned a short time later.

Police say a 13-year-old male, 14-year-old female, 15-year-old female, and 15-year-old male were taken into custody.

They were interviewed at the Wauwatosa Police Department and transferred to the Milwaukee County Juvenile Justice Center.
