36-year-old man in critical condition following lake rescue in Oconomowoc
OCONOMOWOC, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 36-year-old man was transported to a hospital in critical condition following a lake rescue in the area of the dam between Fowler Lake and Lac LaBelle in Oconomowoc around 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10.
The Western Lakes Fire District responded for a possible drowning in the 500 block of Lake Road at 9:18 p.m for a report that a 36-year-old man was swimming in the channel when he went missing.
Officials say a witness on scene said the man was not wearing a life jacket when he went missing.
The first units arrived at 9:22 p.m. Officials say rescuers were able to locate and remove the individual from the water at 10:05 p.m. Paramedics began resuscitation efforts at scene and the man was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
As of Sunday morning, there were no updates on the patient's condition.
The Western Lakes Fire District and Dive Team, City of Oconomowoc Police, and mutual aid from the Town of Delafield Dive Team responded to the scene. Mutual aid was also requested for the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department Dive Team, Waukesha County Incident Command Post, and Wisconsin DNR to respond.
Officials are not releasing the individuals name at this time.
The incident remains under investigation by the City of Oconomowoc Police Department.
