30-year-old man killed after crashing into tree in Fond du Lac

FOND DU LAC, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 30-year-old Fond du Lac man is dead after a crash on Amory Street, just north of Arndt Street. It happened Saturday, March 7 around 12:12 a.m. 

According to the Find du Lac Police Department, an investigation indicates the man was driving southbound on Amory Street in a 2013 Hyundai Elantra, when he left the roadway and struck a tree and the Crossroads Care Center building. 

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. 

No other injuries were reported. 

The Fond du Lac Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department Accident Reconstruction Unit, City of Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue and the City of Fond du Lac Police Chaplains.   

The cause of the crash remains under active investigation.
