Police: 3 taken into custody after firearms stolen from gun shop in Delavan

ELKHORN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Three people were taken into custody after several firearms were stolen from a gun shop in the town of Delavan. 

Authorities said around 3:12 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 7, Delavan police were called to a burglary alarm at the Dam Road Gun Shop, located on Dam Road. 

Upon arrival, officers discovered the gun shop had been burglarized and several firearms had been stolen. 

During the investigation, Elkhorn police located a suspicious vehicle at a Speedway gas station. It was learned stolen firearms from the gun shop were inside the vehicle. 

With assistance from the Walworth County Sheriff's Department, authorities arrested a 24-year-old Milwaukee man for obstructing an officer, criminal damage to property, multiple counts of felon in possession of a firearm, and burglary while armed. 

A 19-year-old woman from West Allis was also arrested for party to the crime of burglary. 

A juvenile was also taken into custody. 

Delavan police continue to investigate.
