WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Governor Scott Walker hosted the 27th annual Governor's Blue Ribbon Meat Products Auction at the Wisconsin State Fair.
The money raised will benefit the Wisconsin 4H Foundation.
The best of Wisconsin's champion specialty meats like ham, bacon, and sausage were sold to the highest bidder.
Organizers say it's a long and daunting process for competitors to make it this far.
"The State Fair in July has a competition for all the premier sausage makers and meat processors in the state and they have seven or eight categories and they've selected the very best of what Wisconsin has to offer," said John Brunnquell, Auction Co-Chair.
In 2017, the auction raised over $130,000 which broke the record from 2016.
