The Walworth County Sheriff's Office received a report of a car vs tree injury crash in the Town of Delavan. 

The crash happened shortly after 6 a.m. on Thursday morning on Hwy P north of Hwy M.

Upon arrival, first responders observed a red 1997 Dodge Intrepid with extensive damage up against a tree.

Initial investigation reveals the car was being driven by 26-year-old Brian G. Blucher of Whitewater, WI and was southbound on Hwy P when it lost control. 

The vehicle left the road and struck a tree on the east side of Highway P. 

Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash. 

The driver, who was the sole occupant, was not wearing a seatbelt. 

Blucher was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
