MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – A 24-year-old man is dead after being shot Thursday morning near 45th and Clarke.
According to Milwaukee Police, officers were called to the area and found the victim lying in an alley.
Lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful and the victim died from his injuries.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Milwaukee Police say the homicide is the 98th of 2018 which is down from 118 in 2017 through December 27. The Office of Violence Prevention says the homicide number for Milwaukee is one higher - 99. They also say there have been 474 non-fatal shootings which is a 15 percent decrease from last year.
