WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Wisconsin State Fair announced Thursday, May 21 that a 230-foot observation wheel called the America 250 Wheel will be a new attraction at the 2026 fair, running Aug. 6-16.

The wheel is described as the largest portable observation wheel in the world and will make its Midwest debut at State Fair Park.

It stands 75 feet taller than the previous WonderFair Wheel and offers views reportedly stretching four miles farther. Each of the 45 gondolas seats six and is themed around one of the 45 U.S. presidents.

The wheel is part of the country's commemoration of America's 250th anniversary.
