2025 in the records above average on precipitation and below average on temperatures
CBS 58 We are now a few days into the new year and all the stats for 2025 are in. Compared to averages, 2025 had more chilly months than warmer months. The year started out pretty cold in January and February but March was one of our most above average months. May was pretty chilly then June and July were a bit above average before another chilly month in August. September and November were the months that was the closest to average before. October was the most above average month and December was the most below average month on temps.
Overall, the yearly average temperature was 48.5 degrees which is nearly a full degree above average. 2025 goes down in the records tied for the 30th warmest year on record.
When it came to precipitation eight of the 12 months in 2025 were below average including the last four months of the year. March, May, June and August were the only above average precipitation months. The year ended above average on precipitation only because of the historic flooding we had back in August which was one of the wettest months on record and over 5" above average for the month.
2025 officially ended with 35.85" of precipitation which is less than 2024 but 1.28" above average and goes into the records as the 35th wettest year on record.
