20-year-old OD victim given two Narcan doses in Walworth County

On Friday July 21 at approximately 11:53 PM Walworth County Sheriff’s deputies as well as East Troy and Mukwonago Rescue Units were dispatched to a residence on Highway D in the Town of LaFayette, for a report of a heroin overdose. 

The Walworth County Communications Division told the caller to initiate CPR CPR protocol while deputies were en-route. Deputies arrived at 11:56 PM and began to medically assess the victim. 

The overdose victim was a 20-year-old woman whose breathing was very shallow and she was unconscious. The deputies delivered one dose of Naloxone to the victim. A second dose of Naloxone was delivered a short time later and the victim began to show signs of improvement. Upon the arrival of the rescue squad members, further medical treatment was given. 

The victim was alert and conscious prior to being transported by ambulance to an area hospital where she was provided further medical care and is expected to make a full recovery. 

All Walworth County Sheriff’s marked patrol squads are equipped and deputies are trained in the use of Naloxone.
