MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A 2-year-old child was struck and killed by a driver near 60th and Hustis in Milwaukee on Wednesday, Nov. 13.
Police say it was just before 12:30 p.m., when the child ran into traffic and was struck.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment and later died. The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office identified the child as Angelo Berry.
The driver of the vehicle, a 41-year-old man, remained at the scene and was arrested. On Thursday, police announced a 25-year-old man was also arrested for child neglect.
Criminal charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.
CBS 58 spoke with one woman who lives near where this tragedy happened, and she says it's heartbreaking and is something no child should have to suffer.
"Thats a hurting feeling, you know," said neighbor Tameka Moss. "That could have been my child, my grandchild."
Moss says speeding is an issue in the area and that people need to be cautious and slow down.
"They do need to slow it down," said Moss. "Sometimes you have to wait to get in your car before you get in because you never know if your door will get hit or if you'll get hit, so they just need to slow it down a little bit out here."
