2-year-old shot near 45th and North, Milwaukee man arrested
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police are investigating a shooting that injured a 2-year-old boy Thursday morning, Aug. 24.
Officials say it happened around 10:08 a.m. near 45th and North Avenue.
The child was taken to Children's Wisconsin for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury.
Authorities say a 21-year-old Milwaukee man was taken into custody.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation, and police say criminal charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office in the upcoming days.
Milwaukee police would like to remind the public to "keep firearms locked with a gunlock and secured in an area out of the reach of children."
