2 sentenced in Water Street mass shooting following Bucks playoff game

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Two people were sentenced Thursday, in connection to the Water Street mass shooting that occurred after a Bucks playoff game in downtown Milwaukee back in May of 2022.

Sixteen people were injured in the incident. 

Twenty-one-year-old Alexus Jackson Milton pleaded guilty to one count aggravated battery -- intend great bodily harm -- use of a dangerous weapon and was sentenced to five years in prison followed by five years of extended supervision. 

Fifteen counts of first-degree reckless injury as a party to a crime were dismissed.

Marquise Jackson, 25, pleaded guilty to one count aggravated battery -- intend great bodily harm -- use of a dangerous weapon and seven counts first-degree reckless injury as a party to a crime.

He was sentenced to 22 years in prison, followed by 15 years of extended supervision. Eight counts were dismissed as part of a plea deal.

Several others have been charged for their involvement in the shooting that took place near Water and Juneau.

Surveillance video shows a crowd near Water and Juneau around 11 p.m. on the night of the incident. A criminal complaint says two people pull out handguns, and one of them fired. Police said they believe a total of eight people fired back.

The complaint goes on to say 10 police officers reported shooters firing in their direction, nearly hitting several of them.
