5:00 PM Update: Warnings Have Expired. Storms Still Possible.

5:00 PM:

Scattered storms have moved south of Milwaukee; however, those strong storms are moving across Kenosha and Racine counties.  Gusty winds and small hail is still possible. So far we've had a handful of branches down reports on gusty wind. Wind gusts have been as high as 55mph in Kenosha, 50mph in West Bend and 40mph in Racine.

The overall threat will continue to go down as we lose peak heating after sunset.

3:00 PM Update:

The warnings have expired for the storms in Washington and Ozaukee counties.  Storms will continue to fire throughout the rest of the afternoon and move toward Milwaukee between 4 pm and 6 pm.

High heat and humidity are fueling pop up showers and storms this afternoon.  While a watch has not been issued, we do expect storms to continue to fire during the peak heating of the day. Currently we have a Severe Thunderstorm Warning our for Washington and Ozaukee counties until 3pm. These storms are working east at 25mph so heavy rainfall is a good likelihood. Wind gusts to 60mph along with quarter size hail are possible.

Showers and storms will continue to be a possibility this afternoon and evening.

The other issue is the high humidity and heat. Feels like temps are near 100 in spots.
