1st-ever Cheese Capital Festival coming to Plymouth June 23-24 🧀

PLYMOUTH, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Calling all cheese lovers! The first-ever Cheese Capital Festival is coming to Plymouth -- the "Cheese Capital of the World!"

According to a news release, Cheese Capital Festival will take place June 23 and 24, reimagining the Family Music Fest and celebrating the rich heritage of cheese in the city of Plymouth.

The two-day celebration will be free and open to the public. The event will feature a parade, live music, a mac-and-cheese cooking contest where local restaurants will serve up their best mac-and-cheese dishes to be judged, a "Cheese Wedge Derby" race, kids play zone, face painting, and more.

The festival wouldn't be complete without a cheese eating contest sponsored by The Big Cheese.

Local vendors will also be in attendance bringing a variety of cheese offerings.

Cheese Capital Festival takes place in downtown Plymouth, at the Stayer Park pavilion.

The event is supported by local cheese companies including Sargento, Masters Gallery Foods, Sartori and Great Lakes Cheese and is being organized by a committee of Plymouth Chamber of Commerce members.
