$1M winning Megabucks ticket sold in Milwaukee will expire on July 5

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Someone is holding onto a Megabucks ticket worth $1 million.

It was purchased in Milwaukee on Wednesday, Jan. 6 at Lisbon Express Inc., located at 7110 W. Lisbon Avenue.

The winning numbers were 3-7-17-22-33-44.

If nobody claims the ticket by July, 5, the ticket will expire.

This jackpot-winning ticket can only be claimed at the Lottery office in Madison. The winner should call ahead (608-261-4916) to make an appointment so the Lottery can provide enough time to process the claim. As state offices are closed on July 5, an appointment must be made by July 2, 2021. The winner can choose between claiming $1 Million annuity or $400,000 cash (before state and federal taxes).

Megabucks Wisconsin-only jackpot lotto game. Including this unclaimed win, 2021 has seen two Megabucks jackpot wins. A $1 Million jackpot win for the February 3, 2021, drawing was claimed by a Sheboygan man. There was a total of three Megabucks jackpot wins in 2020 – $1.4 Million win in December, claimed by an East Troy woman; a $1.9 Million win from September, claimed by a Neenah man; and $10.7 Million was won by a Merrillan man in April 2020. The Megabucks jackpot had rolled for over a year prior to the April 2020 win.

Wisconsin Lottery retailers who sell winning tickets over $599 receive a 2 percent incentive up to $100,000. Lisbon Express Inc. received $20,000 incentive for selling the ticket.

The odds of winning the Megabucks jackpot are 1 in 6,991,908. Megabucks drawings are Wednesday and Saturday. Each set of two plays cost $1 per draw. Tickets must be purchased before 9 p.m. on Wednesday and Saturday to be included in that day's drawing.
