16-Year-Old Arrested for Driving after Smoking Marijuana with Children in the Car

A 16-year-old West Bend woman was arrested for OWI after driving with a 4-year-old, 5-year-old, and a 15-year-old in the car.

The incident occurred on Tuesday around 5:00PM in the 1300 block of South 7th Avenue.

According to West Bend Police, the driver was stopped for a traffic violation and as the officer approached the vehicle a strong odor of marijuana was detected emitting from the passenger compartment.

The driver admitted to smoking marijuana prior to operating the motor vehicle and was arrested for OWI - Restricted Controlled Substance with Passengers under the age of 16, as there was a 4 year old, a 5 year old and a 15 year old in the vehicle at the time of the stop.

The female driver was also cited for Operating Without a valid Drivers License, Operating with Expired Registration, and Operating Without a Child Restrained in a Child Seat.
