MILWAUKEE -- The condition of the 12-year-old girl stabbed 19 times by two other girl's has improved. The girl's family says the girl's condition has been upgraded from stable to fair.

Being classified fair means the victim's vital signs are stable and within normal limits. It also means the girl is conscious, but may be uncomfortable. The only condition with a higher grade is good.

In court documents, medical professionals reports the 12-year-old was one millimeter away from certain death. The attackers narrowly missed a major artery that would have caused the girl to bleed out in minutes.
