12-year-old in serious condition after being hit by a car near 40th and North

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A 12-year-old boy is in serious condition after being hit by a car near 40th and North.
It happened around 7:55 p.m. on Friday.
Police say the child didn't look before crossing the street and was hit by a black sedan.
The child was taken to Children's Hospital with serious injuries.
The driver stayed on scene and is cooperating with police.
The investigation is ongoing.
