117 Balloons Released in Waukesha County for Foster Children

Workers at the Waukesha County Department of Health and Human Services released 117 balloons at noon on Tuesday.

Each represents a Waukesha County child currently in foster care and hopefully will urge that family on the fence to finally get involved and take in a foster child.

"There's a lot of wonderful foster parents here in Waukesha county. But we never have enough!"

Foster Parents month falls between Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. So I think it's a great celebration of those caregivers that we're not always able to recognize,” said Kathy Mullooly of Waukesha County.

More than 5100 families are currently licensed foster care providers in the state of Wisconsin.
